Treatment Programs

Evidence-based programs tailored to your unique recovery needs

Medical Detox

Medical detox at MDR Rehab marks the essential first step of the recovery process. Our Napa campus provides round-the-clock monitoring by physicians and nurses within a quiet, supportive environment. Medication-assisted treatment is administered when clinically appropriate to ease withdrawal from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and other substances.

Most detox stays last between 3 and 7 days, depending on the substance and the patient's overall health. Throughout this period, our medical team tracks vitals, adjusts medications as needed, and provides emotional reassurance. Once withdrawal is safely managed, patients transition directly into residential or outpatient care without disruption.

  • 24/7 physician and nursing supervision
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid, alcohol, and benzodiazepine withdrawal
  • Individualized comfort protocols
  • Seamless transition to residential or outpatient care

Residential Treatment

Our residential program provides a structured 30- to 90-day experience crafted around daily routine, accountability, and authentic human connection. Within our 28-bed Napa campus, each resident follows a purposeful schedule that includes individual therapy, group counseling, family involvement sessions, and physical wellness activities.

Therapeutic modalities include CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and 12-Step facilitation, complemented by outdoor activities, guided meditation, journaling workshops, and fitness sessions that draw energy from the Napa Valley's rolling vineyards and open landscapes. The result is a recovery foundation built on both clinical depth and the rejuvenating simplicity of small-town life.

  • 30, 60, and 90-day program options
  • Individual and group therapy sessions daily
  • Holistic therapies: yoga, meditation, art therapy
  • Life skills training and relapse prevention planning
  • Family therapy and weekend visitation

Outpatient Program

MDR Rehab offers both an Intensive Outpatient Program and a standard Outpatient track, giving patients access to meaningful clinical support without full-time residence. Sessions are held at our Napa facility multiple evenings per week, using the same evidence-based therapies that drive our residential program.

The IOP track involves 9 to 12 hours of weekly programming, including group therapy, individual counseling, and relapse-prevention education. As stability increases, patients step down to our standard outpatient track at 3 to 6 hours per week. Both tracks include routine drug screening, family education sessions, and detailed aftercare planning connected to resources throughout Napa County and the broader North Bay region.

  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): 5-6 days/week, 6+ hours/day
  • Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): 3-5 days/week, 3+ hours/day
  • Standard Outpatient: 1-2 sessions per week
  • Evening and weekend scheduling available
  • Individual counseling, group therapy, and peer support

Dual Diagnosis

Many individuals who seek treatment at MDR Rehab are navigating both addiction and an underlying mental health condition such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or bipolar disorder. Our dual diagnosis program treats these intertwined conditions simultaneously, because experience has shown that isolating one from the other invites relapse.

Our psychiatric and clinical staff collaborate on comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and develop unified treatment plans. Patients receive individual psychotherapy, psychiatric medication management when indicated, specialized co-occurring disorder groups, and practical coping-skills training. This integrated model — delivered in the supportive atmosphere of our Napa campus — gives patients the best possible footing for long-term wellness.

  • Comprehensive psychiatric assessment and diagnosis
  • Integrated treatment plans for addiction and mental health
  • Medication management by board-certified psychiatrists
  • Trauma-informed therapy, including EMDR
  • Ongoing monitoring and aftercare planning
